Update from Gosford Camp Chief – click here for Gosford Event Page
Hi all
Time is closing in fast for our provincial camp Gosford 2016.
The site will be open from Thursday the 27th April for any group who wish to drop of gear or put up a few tents.
Groups can arrive anytime from 5pm on Friday 29th of April and sites to be vacated by 1pm on Monday 2nd of May.
Site sizes will go on the amount of people you will have camping, (ten square metres per person will be allocated on arrival.)
Each participant will be provided with a necktie and armband, the colours of which relate to each section and programme group. (as per group registration list).
Please have a medical consent form (attached) filled in for each youth member along with a scouting Ireland Activity consent form (on the scouting Ireland site) and hand them into the admin tent on arrival at camp on Friday evening. Armagh Order of Malta will be doing first aid cover all weekend.
We will be promoting recycling on our camp and bins will be provided for this.
Our opening ceremonies will be on the Friday night and will be in themed costume dress of superheroes.
We hope to have a lip sync battle going on, on the Friday night so get practicing.
Beavers opening ceremony will be on Saturday morning, also in super hero outfits.
Saturday and Sunday will be jammed full of activities for all to enjoy.
We will have other activities going on throughout the site.
In the evenings we have a cinema room for younger members, a neon disco on Saturday night so bring along your paints and disco gear, and campfires, scouts own.
Or why not relax in our café. Tuck shop also available.
All proceeds raised from both the tuck shop and the coffee shop be go to a children’s cancer charity in honour of a young beaver Max Moore from 8th Armagh Portadown whom sadly passed away in August 2015 after a courageous battle with his illness.
The scout shop will be there with branded gear and tents for sale.
Closing ceremonies will take place on the Sunday night and will be in top half uniforms.
Yours in scouting
Damien Toal
