Ventures: Christmas Camp – Shepherds Lodge
Venture’s Christmas Camp at Shepherds Lodge
£45 pp for the weekend. This includes fees for the centre, heating/electric, food / snacks etc and all other materials needed to run the camp.
A £15 deposit will be required on or before 20th November.
Shepherds Lodge is an indoor centre owned by the Boys Brigade in the Mourne Mountains.

We advise all Ventures to bring lots of layers due to the expected temperatures below zero. Walking boots/shoes for our gentle hike on the Saturday are also a must! If you have an old tea towel you can bring and also any left over Christmas decorations (these will be returned), that would be great! Thanks.
The Plan:
Friday
- Make your own way to Shepherds Lodge. Arrive any time after 7pm. Please try to car share where possible so parents don’t have to pick up Friday and Sunday.
- Shepherds Lodge can be tricky to find so check out this map before travelling.
- Get rooms sorted.
- Board games / outdoor games / decorate
- Hot supper
Saturday
- Cooked breakfast
- Go for a small hike mid morning returning early afternoon
- Christmas Dinner and Christmas games
- Board games / outdoor games
- Christmas movie(s)
- Hot chocolate etc
Sunday
- Cold breakfast
- Pack up equipment and clean centre
- Get picked up for 1pm. (If you are getting picked up earlier please let us know prior to the camp)
Please note. The road past the YMCA can be in a state of disrepair. Please make parents aware of this if they planned to leave you all the way up to the centre as potholes and a rough stone road are to be expected.
Alternatively you can get dropped at Donard Car Park and walk the 15 minutes up to the centre.
